April McClements

April McClements is a partner in Matheson’s Disputes and Investigations Group.  She has more than 18 years’ experience advising financial services providers and international clients on large-scale complex disputes and has been involved in some of the most significant commercial disputes in Ireland in recent years, both before the Irish courts and in arbitrations under international or domestic rules.

April specialises in insurance disputes and is a go-to advisor for strategic, commercially focused advice on disputes in the insurance industry, guiding clients through complex and novel litigation.  She advises on the full spectrum of disputes in the sector, with particular expertise in complex coverage disputes across all lines of business. She also advises on reinsurance disputes, policy wording interpretation and drafting, D&O claims, cyber, W&I claims and emerging risks in the sector.

April is an officer of the IBA Insurance Committee and a Committee Member of the Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland.
